Just ducky, thank you.

Well, my little adventure in the back of a weekly publication (wow, that sounds so lovely and sleazy) yielded a mere three responses. One from a man who offered to set me up on a date with his son, one from a weird 48 year old man who said:

"sure you can B ... nothing crazysexycooler than a smart, pretty lass reading last weeks times on the train ... i see you hang left too. "

Um, what?

And a wink from a guy who was disaster Nerve date last winter.

Hmm.

My horoscope wasn't awfully encouraging, either:

"The stars understand you’re still struggling with self-esteem issues, particularly those involving your relationship status, but this week you’d be wise to stop beating yourself up and to start thinking about what you want. Do you really want a girlfriend or boyfriend or spouse or soul mate? Hell, you might not even want a bedmate right now, and that's fine. Just try and figure some of it out before June, which will be easier on the hearts and minds of all of the signs."

It could be that the stars of Nerve's new Bloggers are getting all the attention.

Or it could be that I am an odd duck.

Which I am.

Birds of a feather, etc...but then, odd ducks might not be that scarce. it doesn't seem like it. Or maybe "odd" in this case doesn't mean "strange" but just "unmatched".

Dictionary...
1. Deviating from what is ordinary, usual, or expected; strange or peculiar: an odd name; odd behavior. See Synonyms at strange.
Yep, that would be me.

2. Being in excess of the indicated or approximate number, extent, or degree. Often used in combination: invited 30-odd guests.
Hmm. No.

3. Constituting a remainder: had some odd dollars left over.
It might be a little early to say that.

4. Small in amount: jingled the odd change in my pockets.
Certainly not.

5. Being one of an incomplete pair or set: an odd shoe.
See? That's what I'm thinking.

6. Remaining after others have been paired or grouped.
Again, maybe a bit premature. But yeah.

I think it's pretty interesting that odd can mean both "Being in excess" and "a small amount". Words are weird.

So the big question is, if an odd duck finds a matching duck, does it remain odd? One would hope.
